ZURU, the Chinese toy company, has filed for bankruptcy after President Trump imposed a 125% tariff on Chinese imports. Known for affordable toys like Mini Brands, ZURU couldn’t withstand the cost surge.
“Told you, make your toys in America” Trump said. “Enjoy a life full of regrets.”
The company’s profit margins vanished overnight after ZURU failed to implement the right strategy to tackle the tariffs by establishing manufacturing in America.
ZURU co-founder Nick Mowbray has reportedly checked into rehab amid the chaos. Sources say he unraveled after the tariff hit, spotted mumbling “125%...” with a bottle in hand. “This broke him,” a friend said. The company is now teetering.
“ZURU’s done—bankrupt! Nick’s in rehab—sad! Told you, make your toys in the US not SCHINA.”
At publishing time, Nick was seen at rehab playing with the famous water balloons from left-over ZURU stock.
