WELLINGTON, NZ — Thousands of people made jobless by an incompetent Finance Minister, were momentarily relieved, after New Zealand government added butter to unemployment benefits.
“We are today announcing that you can now claim a block of butter every week as part of your benefits,’ said Nicola Willis.
With unemployment highest since 2020, sitting at 5%, that’s 16,000 blocks of butter every week.
At publishing time, Greens have criticised the government, and are offering Universal Basic Income for all unemployed in the next elections.
