US — Uncle Herschel, the ambassador of Cracker Barrel who featured on the original logo, has declined an offer to return to the restaurant chain’s branding.
Speaking from the afterlife, where he resides in a log cabin, the bearded figure expressed relief at his removal from the company’s image.
“I’m glad they cut me loose,” he said. “That new logo looks like it was designed by a woke amateur on Canva.”
Cracker Barrel replaced its 1977 logo, featuring Uncle Herschel leaning on a barrel. The change saw its stock crash by end of trading day, falling 10.2%.
Cracker Barrel CEO reportedly offered to reinstate Herschel with a modernised look, including a sustainably sourced barrel. Herschel rejected the proposal.
At publishing time, Uncle Herschel has signed a new deal to become an ambassador of American Eagle. He will feature in a new jeans advert alongside Sydney Sweeney.
