TEXAS — As the state of Texas reels from catastrophic flooding, Governor Greg Abbott has taken matters into his own wheels.
Abbott was spotted towing stranded residents to safety using his wheelchair. The image of the governor pulling people using a tow rope, became an instant symbol of what Texans are all about.
Texas, a red state known for its self-reliance, and Trump-endorsed leadership, was caught flat-footed by the floods. Despite warnings, the state’s emergency response has been chaotic with many dead, leaving Abbott to roll into the breach on his hot wheels.
The floods have exposed cracks in the state’s infrastructure and emergency response, and yet, Abbott’s impromptu heroics have sparked admiration from residents, with some calling it the ultimate Texas power move.
At publishing time, the Governor was also seen towing a giant Starship rocket at at Starbase City in Texas, rescuing it from a giant 30-metre tsunami.
