Tauranga City Council Adds Coffee In City's Water Supply
TAURANGA, NZ – Tauranga City Council has announced they will be replacing their office coffee supply by adding coffee into the city’s water supply.
The decision comes hot on the heels of revelations that the council splashed out a staggering $513,000 on staff coffees over three years, leaving ratepayers steaming and Mayor Mahé Drysdale facing a roasting from the public.
“We addedd fluoride in the water, and it has saved many ratepayers on buying toothpaste. So we thought, why not add the coffee in the water supply then spend half-a-million on coffee?!” said the Mayor.
