WELLINGTON, NZ — The script development for an upcoming Lord of the Rings movie about Gollum is well underway, with Warner Bros. exploring the idea of bringing Peter Jackson on board, so that he can help trim the movie down to just 9 hours.
The producers of the movie expressed concerned that the original script was bloated, with unnecessary plots. The director of the three Lord of the Rings and trilogy of Hobbit movies will be tasked to trim the fat and stick to just a 9-hour movie.
“Restricting the script is essential, so I’m delighted to have Jackson on board to help keep the movie within the length that everyone can bear to watch a Lord of the Rings movie, which is 9 hours. If anyone that can pull it off, it is Peter Jackson,” said Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav.
The upcoming film from this mighty franchise will focus on Gollum, with Andy Serkis returning as Gollum and director. "I’m delighted to have Mr. Jackson on board because, to tell you the truth, doing the Gollum voice for more than 9 hours, is just suicidal,” said Andy Serkis.
Jackson will be responsible to help the writers stay focused on the main story, rather than taking value screen time from the fans who need to go to work and raise their children. The response from fans suggests that this is the right direction “I’m glad it is only 9 hours, I was panicking there for a bit,” said Jared Connon.
With Jackson on board, we are looking forward to a banger of a 9-hour Lord of the Rings movie.
