MIDDLE EAST — The Middle East achieved a record-breaking 17 minutes of peace today, surpassing the previous record of 21 minutes, according to the Guinness World Record.
During this brief interlude, the region buzzed with children playing in the streets, strangers exchanged smiles, and there were even unconfirmed reports of former enemies sharing a falafel. "It was like a dream," said one local resident enjoying a meal with a terrorist.
Soon after, chaos erupted at a local café when a heated debate broke out over whether hummus should include tahini. The disagreement quickly escalated into threats, inevitably, rockets were fired.
This marks the 157th peace agreement attempted in the Middle East this year alone, with an average duration of 27 minutes. Guinness World Records wasted no time certifying the achievement. "It’s a remarkable milestone," said a Guinness spokesperson. "We hope this inspires future attempts to break the record.”
At publishing time, things back to business-as-usual with explosions and hatred.
