WELLINGTON, NZ — New Zealand government has announced plans to cancel all 11 national public holidays, plus regional holidays, and school holidays.
This will add $4 billion in lost productivity back into the economy.
“We can’t leave any waste in the economy, and this is a good time to change the culture in this country for hard work,” said Prime Minister Christopher Luxon.
At publishing time, the government is now considering cancelling weekends as holidays.
