With Netflix doubling-down on trans content for kids, this week they have made a major announcement to turn their famous kids show, Gabby’s Dollhouse, into a trans-focused new show, titled Gabby’s Draghouse.
“We felt that the show has come to an end, and we wanted to spin it into a new show, and kids LOVE trans content,” said Hannah Minghella, head of family content at Netflix.
Gabby Dollhouse has racked up 76 episodes across 11 season, after premiering on Netflix in 2021. There is also a movie made for Gabby’s Dollhouse, currently in cinemas.
Gabby’s Draghouse has been funded for 11 more seasons, with the plot being Gabby exploring her gender identity, and deciding to become trans, and go on adventures in her draghouse.
At publishing time, Netflix has also commissioned to a new trans-focused “Bluey” kids show.
