Lorde Dumps 'Good Girl' Image For 'Unemployed Crocodile Hunter'
In an exclusive Rolling Stone interview, pop icon Lorde stunned fans after announcing that she is ditching her "good girl" image for the rugged, gender-bending image of an “unemployed crocodile hunter.”
Her upcoming album’s unsettling cover art sets the stage for her bold exploration of identity. Speaking candidly, Lorde described her new vibe as a deliberate break up from her previous image.
“I wake up some days feeling like a man, and more specifically, like a crocodile hunter—just a guy with a tattered hat, pony tails, a machete, and living wild and free,” Lorde told Rolling Stone. “I’m unemployed right now as a crocodile hunter but that’s not the point. The point is, I’m a virgin at crocodile hunting.”
The interview reveals Lorde’s new persona as a calculated leap into absurdity, blending masculine swagger with her signature poetic depth. The Rolling Stone feature details her vision for Virgin (album) as a “swampy, skeletal odyssey,” with Lorde hinting at music videos featuring muddy boots and flickering X-ray visuals.
At publishing time, Lorde was seen hunting crocodiles with her ‘unemployed crocodile hunter friend’, Post Malone.
