LONDON, UK — A senior judge was caught on video appearing to strike the elusive street artist Banksy with his gavel after a late-night confrontation.
The encounter unfolded when Justice Harold Grayson reportedly stumbled upon Banksy in the act of spray-painting a new mural on the historic building.
Eyewitnesses and security footage captured the moment when Grayson, who had been working late to review case files, exited the courthouse and spotted the artist at work. Sources indicate Grayson, incensed by what he perceived as vandalism, confronted Banksy, who was masked and dressed in his signature dark attire.
Grayson allegedly re-enacted the mural in real life, wielding his gavel as a symbolic weapon, striking Banksy. Video evidence shows the judge delivering several strikes. Bystanders reported hearing Grayson shout, “This is for the law that you dare to not follow.”
The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation into the altercation, with a spokesperson stating, “We are reviewing the footage and will determine the appropriate course of action based on the circumstances. Our initial analysis is that Banksy is at fault. You must conform to any law, no matter if it takes away your liberties.”
At publishing time, the Judge has ordered to leave Banksy’s mural on the building, as a reminder for the public to conform to whatever the judge orders.
