LONDON, UK — Jimmy Kimmel Live is back on air after a record shattering 7-day cancellation.
The late-night host has now been officially recognised by Guinness World Records as the individual cancelled for the shortest time in history.
For decades, the architects of cancel culture have wielded their power. From comedians to politicians, the script has been clear: cross the line, and you’re banished to the cultural underworld, never to resurface.
Think Roseanne Barr, relegated to reruns and obscurity after a single tweet, or the countless underground podcasters whispering into the void. But Kimmel? He’s rewritten the playbook. After ABC cancelled his show on September 18 following backlash over his Kirk remarks, he returned triumphantly on September 22.
“We invented cancel culture, and only we can make exceptions,” said Jimmy Kimmel on his return.
At publishing time, Stephen Colbert has announced that his show’s cancellation is also terminated.
