Good News: '6-7' Meme Has Officially Been Stopped In Australia
In a triumphant press conference Tuesday, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced that the notorious “6-7” meme, blamed for radicalising countless Australian teens, has finally been eradicated from the continent.
“Today marks the end of an era,” Albanese declared, wiping a single heroic tear from his eye. “No longer will our youth be exposed to the toxic meme 6-7. This meme single-handedly caused every violent incident since it began in January. We have won.”
The meme extinguished instantly as children under the age of 16 were banned from using social media.
Mental health advocate and TikTok influencer SafeSpaceAlley praised the crackdown. “For too long we ignored the link between dark-humour memes and teens deciding to be annoying with nonsense trends.”
At publishing time, sources confirmed the government was urgently drafting legislation to outlaw the numbers 5 and 8 as well, just to be on the safe side.
