Former Director-General Of Health Found Guilty Of Spreading Misinformation
NZ — The Health Practitioner’s Disciplinary Tribunal found former Director-General of Health Ashley Bloomfield guilty of spreading misinformation regarding the efficacy of the Covid vaccine.
The tribunal determined that Bloomfield misled the public by repeatedly claiming the vaccine would halt transmission of the virus, a statement he televised everyday to the nation at 1pm.
The decision marks a significant moment in New Zealand’s public health history, raising questions about accountability at the highest levels.
“We have made a mistake. We did not intend to charge Dr Samantha Annabel. We got the files wrong. It was actually Mr. Bloomfield spreading misinformation,” said the Tribunal. “We have many cases of false information given to the public.”
