LONDON, UK — Graham Linehan, the comedic genius behind Father Ted and The IT Crowd, was arrested at Heathrow Airport soon after his arrival on American Airlines flight from Arizona.
The 57-year-old Irish writer was en route to the UK to face charges of harassing a woman, described in court documents as “an adult human female, with balls.”
According to Linehan, he was confronted by men dressed as women in the men’s toilet, aggressively confronting him about his tweets. He then proceeded to punch a woman in the balls.
Linehan was arrested for inciting violence against women.
“Domestic violence against women is already an all-time high, and now we have men punching women in the balls. We can’t allow that,” said Commissioner of the MET Police, Mark Rowley.
He was later bailed with one single bail condition involving restrain from punching women in the balls.
