Expert Says Asian Man Who Torched 5 Teslas Would Have Done More Damage If He Drove Them

LOS ANGELES – Authorities arrested a man of Asian descent after he set fire to 5 Tesla vehicles, causing an estimated $400,000 in damage. While the incident has sparked outrage, one expert suggests the suspect would have caused more damage if he decided to drive the cars.

Dr. Harold Vance, a transportation safety analyst with the Institute for Vehicular Studies, told reporters that burning the cars, while dramatic, failed to maximise their potential for chaos. “For an Asian driver, you can do more damage if you just drive them around naturally. It is easier to get away with that as an Asian.” Vance said in a phone interview. “Had he driven them, especially during rush hour, the damage could have been far greater due to the shape of his eyes.”
