U.S. — Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy have announced their ambitious plan to make rugby not just a sport but the national sport in the U.S., eclipsing even the NFL.
Elon posted on X saying, "Rugby is the future, we are going to grow it bigger than the NFL”. Vivek reposted Elon’s post confirming this initiative, "We're going to grow America with Rugby.”
Sources close to the pair confirmed that this will be made possible through issuing H1B visas to the best rugby players from around the globe. The idea of importing rugby talent through H1B visas has sparked both outrage with many wondering if their favourite NFL stars will soon be going overseas to play Football in Croatia. “Rugby doesn’t have enough commercial breaks. I like watching ads and eating more food every 15 minutes. I HATE THIS,” said a fan.
It is understood Elon has struck a partnership with his home national rugby team Springboks in South Africa, the double champs, who will be working closely with Elon to grow the game of rugby in the U.S.
At publishing time, Elon shared a photo of coloured-only rugby players on X.
