INDIA — Kiwi CEO of Air India, Campbell Wilson, found himself in hot waters after issuing a statement following the fatal crash that was identical to one given by a few months back by American Airlines.
“This is a speech I wrote myself last night while reflecting on the tragic accident over a glass of whiskey and a cuban cigar,” said Wilson. “I do use ChatGPT from time-to-time, and maybe I asked ChatGPT to do the speech for me, I just can’t recall to be honest, I had a few whiskeys.”
Wilson suggested that ChatGPT may have plagiarised the speech based on data it had about how previous speeches may have been received by the public after a tragic plane crash.
“I mean I do enjoy a copy-and-paste,” explained Wilson, “But this had to be well written, and I was just was too emotional to write myself. So I asked ChatGPT to write it.”
